Enabling the vision…

Yes, this is what it’s all about for me, I have this long term vision to be healthy, slim and trim but it’s in the doing, the mission and voyage of discovery where the proverbial cock-ups and cracks shine through. Today began on a better note I’d say, with determination to make the journey a personal accomplishment that I wish to endure. A few days ago I signed up on an online weightloss support forum, a sort of buddy up system, where I haven’t signed on any buddies yet, but the support endured by fellow weightloss hopefuls in their quest to shed the extra weight, the sharing of their trials and tribulations and the knowledge that there are others in the same predicament that I am, is making this journey a bit more endurable for me.

I got to thinking about the adage live each moment as though it’s your last…and with that came the thought, just what are you doing to yourself Prava?…but I got over it as quickly as it came to me, as I realise that I have to stay focussed on my goal ahead if I want to succeed. As I’ve written before, it’s not an easy road to travel and by travelling it alone, it becomes increasingly difficult to see beyond the curves and the steep rises, therefore companions along the way make it much more enjoyable and less lonely….I guess it’s one meal at a time, leading up to one day at a time….

I think my day got off to another beginning for me, and I can proudly say that I’ve made it through Sunday with most of my plans intact….albeit with an extra carb for lunch, but I’m hoping I made up my quota for the day and abstained from bread and rice for dinner. Todays menu was:

B: Green tea, 2 slices crushed wheat and bran bread, 1 poached egg

L: 1 portion grilled lemon peppered hake, 100g steamed cauliflower, 2 slices crushed wheat and bran bread

S: 1 medium sized apple

D: Grilled chicken tikka leg and thigh portion, 1/2 cup lentils with brinjal, green tea

Copious amounts of green tea made up for the water intake today…I’m hoping!

So I guess it’s all about creating that enabling environment, putting the plans into action… therefore, its still up and over time again for me, and tomorrow is another day that I’m looking forward to!
